The Printed Peanut loves to support small business and although usually most products are made in the UK, these gorgeous rugs were too good to miss out on!
They are made entirely by hand using age old and natural Tibetan carpet making techniques mixed with modern day digital tools. It starts by hand spinning bales of pure Tibetan wool into thread, which is then hand dyed with natural and non-polluting dyes. They have found a way of converting digital designs into carpets using loom graphs, translating each pixel into one knot. The workshop pays fair wages for the work and teaches it's employees literacy skills. Their work also supports a school of 260 children and an orphanage of nineteen.
This rug was inspired by Matisse paintings and some of Louise's favourite household objects.
